Blueberry Ginger Morning Smoothie

Want a breakfast smoothie that will get your blood moving and rachet up your energy in the morning? This summer delight is called a Hot Ginger.

The base is made from vanilla almond milk. You can use a store-bought brand. But we strongly recommend making your own.

The frozen blueberries are delicious and literally melt in your mouth. We use the organic frozen blueberries from Costco. Blueberries are not only highly nutritious but also wonderfully versatile. The recipe also includes fresh yellow peach, Fuji apple, fresh-squeezed lemon juice, a pinch of cayenne pepper, a teaspoon of raw honey and a handful of ice cubes.

It is the fresh ginger that really gives this smoothie a kick. Peel away the tough brown skin with a peeler or a paring knife. Mince it into little pieces.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond milk, homemade if possible

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries

  • 1/2 apple, sliced into two pieces

  • 1/2 peach, sliced into two pieces

  • 1 tsp raw honey

  • 1 tsp ginger, minced

  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice

  • Pinch of cayenne pepper

  • 4 ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Throw all the ingredients into a high-speed blender

  2. Blast on high for 45-60 seconds

That’s it. Enjoy!
